The Voyage Together: Q&A with Bobby Moderow Jr.
In celebration of our transition to Navian Hawaii, we’re thrilled to announce a special collaboration with award-winning musician Bobby Moderow Jr.! We partnered with Bobby to release “The Voyage Together,” an original song celebrating the launch of Navian Hawaii and the beginning of our new journey. Bobby’s song honors our commitment to improving the lives of Hawaii’s people, celebrating every one of life’s moments, and navigating in the direction of hope.
We sat down with Bobby to learn more about the inspiration behind his song “The Voyage Together,” fun facts about his new album, and why he supports Navian Hawaii.
What inspired you to write “The Voyage Together”?
The inspiration behind “The Voyage Together” was using the power of music to calm those who are feeling worried, stressed, or unsure about their current situations. I wanted to convey the fact that music has the holistic ability to calm, heal, and comfort.
“The Voyage Together” was completed and recorded after he worked on his album. This was done to help celebrate the launch of Navian Hawaii.
What compelled you to collaborate with Navian Hawaii?
I’ve worked with Navian Hawaii for a number of years and in different capacities, so I’ve seen firsthand how they have cared for and supported patients and their families. In writing this song, I hoped to intertwine the compassion, love and strength that Navian Hawaii affords every soul they touch.
Tell us about your new album—what inspired your songs, what song is your favorite, and what can your fans look forward to?
I’m so excited to share my new project with my ohana here in Hawaii and around the world. My album reflects the gratitude I have for both the incredible artists who have come before me as well as for my own ability to share my thoughts, love and hope through music.
One of my favorite songs on the album is titled “Rainbow.” I wrote this as a reflection on my daughter leaving for college, as well as for those who’ve left Hawaii to share their aloha around the world. The song simply states that if anything adverse happens in your life, simply follow your rainbow home to me.
