Mahalo to our Masked Heroes

Hospitals and healthcare organizations across the country are facing a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as COVID-19 continues to spread. In March, we made a call out for donations of N95 masks, face shields, goggles, gowns, and gloves to be used by our frontline team members.

We were overwhelmed with the amount of love and support we received. We received KN95 masks from Malama Hawaii Hospitals and board member Rick Keene, as well as face shields from Dr. Eric Muraoka of Kaizen Dental Center. Local clothing brand, Akira Collection donated handsewn face masks and Manaola donated individually wrapped medical masks. It’s amazing to see businesses and individuals stepping up to support our health heroes in this time of need.

Navian Hawaii volunteers and friends also took the time to sew face masks for our clinical team. Mahalo Sharon Alvarado, Anna Chang, Joyce Hosoda, Shari Lee-Huntoon, Florence Poon, Mary Sears, and Sandi Shiroma. We are so grateful that the community is coming together to help ensure the safety and protection of our clinical team as they continue to provide quality care for our loved ones.
