Navian Hawaii Happenings

National Nurses Day
We had a wonderful time celebrating National Nurses Day on May 6 and National Nurses Week from May 6 through 12. Mahalo to all of our hardworking nurses for all they do for our patients and their families each and every day, especially during these difficult times.

Maryknoll Mask Project
Mahalo to the Maryknoll School families, alumni and community members who created and donated more than 2,500 fabric masks to help kupuna and frontline healthcare workers stay protected against COVID-19 in the spirit of #GivingTuesdayNow. Navian Hawaii is grateful to have been one of two nonprofit recipients. On Friday, May 22, Maryknoll hosted a contactless drive-thru donation drop-off and presentation. Our President and CEO Tori Abe Carapelho also accepted a donation of face shields from the Rotary Club of East Honolulu. This donation was made possible by Rotary Club member Wendy Chang of Maryknoll School.

Mahalo to Big Island Candies!

On April 3, we received an unexpected delivery of sweet treats that brought smiles to our team’s faces! Mahalo to our friends at Big Island Candies and UPS for their support and thoughtful gifts.

Turned Over a New Leaf

As an expression of gratitude, the Navian Hawaii leadership team mailed Forget-Me-Not seeds to all staff members as a symbol of growth and rejuvenation. Here are some photos of their blossoming Forget-Me-Not plants!

Volunteers Hard at Work

We shared our Navian Hawaii story and presented at a number of expos, fairs and Rotary Clubs in January, including the Rotary Club of East Honolulu, the Rotary Club of Pearlridge, the Generations Fair, and the Junior Optimist Club.

Moving Day

With the closure of our administrative office on March 20, our team worked hard in making sure all medical supplies were safely transported to the Kailua Home. Our field staff arranged for drive-by pickups for two months until the Iwilei office reopened on 5/28.

Iwilei Office Reopened!

While most of our team is still working from home, the doors are now open for supply pickups and any other in-person needs. When we do come to the office, we always make sure to take all safety precautions, including wearing a mask, being physically distant, wiping down work stations and common areas, and screening all staff/guests at the door.
