HONOLULU (March 1, 2022) – Bringing hope and healing to children and families, Navian Hawaii will launch a series of Family Nights on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Hosted by the nonprofit organization’s Bereavement Team, Family Night will offer a safe space for families who are grieving to understand their feelings and reactions to the death of their loved ones.

“We understand the importance of providing families with a strong support network to assist in the healing process,” said Tori Abe Carapelho, president and CEO of Navian Hawaii. “Our Family Night will feature a range of activities and moving rituals to help participants feel better, celebrate their loved one and enjoy time together as a family and with others who are experiencing similar losses.”

Family Night will offer meaningful activities to help families explore and define their feelings and provide ways to express them in a healthy manner. It will take place in a safe environment where families can come together to laugh, cry, remember and heal.

Family Night will be offered every other month on the second Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Future dates include May 12, July 14, September 8, November 10, and December 8. Family Night will initially be held virtually due to COVID-19. Participation is free and open to the community.
