Navian Hawaii: Charting the Voyage Ahead

Last year, we announced a pivotal change for our organization: Hospice Hawaii is now Navian Hawaii! In an effort to provide care for every life journey, we decided to change our name to one that represents who we see ourselves, as “navigators” and “guardians” of our patients and their loved ones. President's Message

By Tori Abe Carapelho

The new year is a special time to reflect on the opportunities and experiences we enjoyed in the year prior and to plan strategically for the days to come. For our community organization, 2019 was one of our most significant years to date, as we celebrated our momentous 40th anniversary and announced our transition to Navian Hawaii. Holiday Ornaments

Even with our name change, we will never forget where it all began. We wanted to do something commemorative using our retired Hospice Hawaii logo, from our cherished uniforms, to create DIY Holiday Ornaments. This idea was inspired by our Admissions Nurse, Ashley Raney, made with love by the hands of our Navian Hawaii staff and volunteers, and happily delivered to patients and their families by our field staff.
Share the story of your Navian today!
Promotional period: January 6-February 16, 2020

We’re inviting the Hawaii community to share their inspiring stories with the community for the chance to be featured on HINow and entered to win a trip for two to Las Vegas from Vacations Hawaii.

We all have a Navian in our lives. Formed from the words ‘Navigator’ and ‘Guardian,’ a Navian is someone who offers clarity, guidance, and hope through times of uncertainty. Honor the Navian in your life by sharing your story on our website at NavianHawaii.org/mynavian, or by posting to Instagram using the hashtag #MyNavian. For official rules, visit NavianHawaii.org/MyNavian.
