HONOLULU (February 28, 2022) – Navian Hawaii has selected Beatrice Grimes as the latest beneficiary of its Little Things, Big Differences program. The program provides the public an opportunity to positively impact the lives of patients facing debilitating medical diagnoses.

Grimes is a 75-year-old woman, who began receiving services from Navian Hawaii after being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Many know her as a sweet, kind-hearted woman, who is always concerned about the well-being of others. Even as she faces a difficult diagnosis, her care team says she remains as positive and generous as ever.

“We are so inspired by patients like Beatrice, who stay hopeful and spread joy to others—even when dealing with the physical, mental and emotional challenges that come with a life-altering health condition,” said Navian Hawaii President and CEO Tori Abe Carapelho. “Our Little Things, Big Differences program is a chance for everyone to get involved. Donating helps to show our patients and their families that they’re not alone. There is hope and a whole community ready to support them.”

As her medical condition requires specialized treatment and attention, Grimes lives in a care home in Honolulu. Without any family on the island, Grimes manages to keep herself busy and her mind sharp with various hobbies and interests. She loves flowers, watching movies and keeping up with celebrity news.

Grimes’ finances are tight, with the majority of her money going to her care home. She would greatly benefit from the community’s support in receiving little things such as:

· A portable fan that can be attached to her bedside to assist with shortness of breath
· Movie tickets
· Celebrity magazines
· Flowers
· A bedside calendar with inspirational quotes
· Walmart or Target gift cards to buy clothes and other personal items

Donations can be delivered or mailed to the Navian Hawaii office at 860 Iwilei Road. For more information, call (808) 791-8067, email marketing@navianhawaii.org or visit www.navianhawaii.org.
